Threatened Species Nomination

My research has contributed to a better understanding of the impacts of climate change on tropical biodiversity. One of the most relevant findings is the rapid climate-driven biodiversity erosion. Below is a list of the most relevant cases, representing a robust representation of the unique biodiversity that constituted the Outstanding Universal Value of the Wet Tropics of North Queensland. All these species have a prominent characteristic in common - they are restricted to the highlands of the Australian Wet Tropics. The rapid decline of upland populations highlighs the alarming rapid collapse of tropical montane ecosystems, following a clear pattern of the “escalator to extinction”.
